Day 2

OMG Day 2 was huge. We worked out for approx 50 mins. And it was hard.

Firstly a circuit setup . . . triceps dips, burpees, skipping, the bridge, agility ladder, medicine ball squats, Russian twists, rinse and repeat! 40 seconds on, 20 seconds off. We did that twice and it was hard work.

Oh we did do some warm up drills as well, plyometric type stuff included. jog, jump, hop, jump, jog. Something like that. Was a good warm up.

We are going to be working in the gym from now on, supposed to be outside but the uni won't switch the lights on for us. Cheap bastards. I would prefer to be working outside . . . that way when I throw up I don't make a mess. Don't tell anyone but I nearly did on Wednesday morning . . . twice!! I would like to believe that it is because of the anti inflams I had the day before, but I am pretty sure it is just cause I am so damn unfit. A lot of people I talk to for some reason have this misconception that I am really fit . . . WRONG! I am overweight and I am unfit. If I work hard though all of that is changing! (oh times they are a changin' )

The last activity we did on Wednesday morning was flipping a big tire over towards our partner, this would normally be quite fun but of course those bastards ( I mean that in the NICEST possible way! )bec and Matt made us either do squat jumps or skipping whilst waiting for the tyre to arrive! URGH!!

Survived it, am damn sore today though.

Last night I had TKD, sparring class. Was a tough class but it was good! it is amazing the difference in my mental attitude now I am losing weight and working hard on my fitness.

Bootcamp again tomorrow morning . . . urgh!

Weigh day Sunday, hmmmm predictions on loss this week. I was 101 exactly this week, I would like to be 99.5 on Sunday. Not too much to ask.

Day 1 report

I showed up at 5.50 (AM!!!) no one else there yet. Waited a few mins. Yep here they all come. Obviously not as keen as me  . . .

I met Bec and Matt, the trainers/leaders for this journey into hell.

It was raining so we decided to train in the brown gym. Normally, we were told, we will be training outside on the oval. Joy! Exercise AND the great outdoors.

We signed up, and ended up getting started at about 6.15. Slowish start . . . little did I know that I would be happy about that later.

I looked around . . . hmmm - Only bloke is me, only person over 21 years of age . . . any guesses? yep, ME!

We went through the obligatory explanations. I have to say at this stage, Matt and Bec explained everything really well. Even though it looked like the majority of participants were physical education students the trainers didnt assume we knew anything and explained everything clearly and quickly with tons of demonstrations.

One embarrassing moment today, we were doing these mountain climb things, on the floor. Crazy stuff . . . anyway, my shirt kept rising up and showing my very flabby belly! ewwww. I will drop into Kmart or target or something today and get a cheap version of the compression clothes. Just a top. I already have skins for my legs. If I tuck that in, it should hide all the bits as much as possible. Don't want to scare any of the young ladies!

We have 3 sessions per week, Tuesday ( obviously ) Wednesday and Friday.

I have been losing weight for about 4 weeks now. I have managed to lose 5 kilos so far. 106 down to 105! I am aiming for 90 kilos and a high level of fitness so I am ready for a TKD comp at the end of the year.

Day one is done, talk to you ( me ) tomorrow!

Drew

PS ; Forgot to tell you, Bootcamp is being run by Active Change Personal Training, Ballarat.

Day one week one

So  . . . 10 weeks of bootcamp. Three sessions per week. 6am to 7am on Tuesday ( today, gulp!) wednesday and friday's.

I am dressed and ready to go for my first session, woke up with a slight kink in my kneck, my bodies way of telling me not to bother perhaps?

So . . . I have decided to do bootcamp to help my weight loss along, 4 weeks ago I needed to lose 16 kilos ( 106 and should be 90 ) So I started eating well again. No snacking, just three good solid meals a day. That has been working well, but I havent been doing any major exercise. Bootcamp was being offered at work so I thought I would give it a go.

I am off now, its 5.30 and it takes 15 mins to get there at this time of the day. Will report when I get back.

Ps. Worried it will be all young fit people from the physical ed courses at the uni, only old fat bloke there will be me.

Update soon.
